Starting with high school education could be immensely exciting yet frightening for a majority of the students. They begin their school life with an enthusiastic spirit, and they expect to score the best scores to pave their ways to their dream university. However, during the initial months of the school year, a majority of the students become apprehensive of their choice of subjects, and they start regretting selecting a particular subject in the first place, and it could disrupt their academic lives to an extent. Keeping the given scenario in mind, there is an urgent need for the public and private schools to get serious regarding the implementation of a structured advising system, which helps a student regarding the registration process. A structured advising system is inclusive of an advisory system, which helps a student register for the courses, which are in accordance with the talent and learning capacity of the student. It should be inclusive of a system that takes the learning capacity into its account prior to assigning a course to a student. For instance, if a student expresses its desire to study business subjects, the advising system should help them recognize the pros and cons of studying business courses, and it should also make sure that the student is set up to keep up with the demands and requirements of business subjects. The implementation of a structured advising system should also help a student with changing their courses or line of subjects; if the current choice of their subjects does not appeal to them. It should allow the students to change their major fields of study simply via reaching out to the registrar office. By reaching out to a registrar office or an advisor’s office, you can discuss how to change your major subjects. You will be required to be descriptive about your reasoning to change your subjects, and you should be specific about your problems, else it could create a hurdle in your degree and registration requirement. By implementing a structured advising system, the students can reach out to the head of the advisory department, and he can assist them in overcoming their concerns regarding the subject. If you are a junior in high school, you are often required to step up your game, so you could keep up with the challenges of the general and SAT examinations and score the highest as well. If you do not score well in the last two years of your high school life, it could complicate your process of getting an admission in your preferred university. Therefore, the incorporation of an advising system will help the students in recognizing their weaknesses, which they could strengthen to become eligible for scoring an admission into their desired college. The advising system also allows the student to create a timetable of their preference; however, this option would be limited to private high schools only. If you are wary of your course’s timings, you can reach out to a course advisor, and you can ask him to switch up your course timing according to your preference. By making a small change to your schedule, it will help you in keeping up with the challenges of high school, and it would give you a peace of mind, which would allow you to study without stressing yourself. The advising system is available in most university-level schools; however, high schools should consider the implementation of such unique system into their modules to help the students with overcoming their concerns regarding a major or elective course. It proves beneficial in encouraging them, and such encouragement can help them in scoring better grades in their examinations.
